The Poor in Society, Resurrection from Social Death, and Latin American Liberation Theology

Does Latin American liberation theology, with its option for the poor, still have something to contribute in a global scenario marked by neoliberal globalization and discussion of identity politics? Based on practices Father Júlio Lancelotti against aporophobia (phobia poor) hostile architecture Brazil, this article discusses notion priority orthopraxis over orthodoxy, process reordering place poor society state budgets, criticizes dehumanization culture, which personal belonging community are pattern consumption wealth. Finally, it shows how recognizing humanity poorest can been seen as resurrection from social death, form within history, affirmation faith God who does not distinguish between human beings, while idol demands sacrifices life poor.
